Legiontide Army Runner is a action game that runs instantly in your browser. If you like army, battle and castle games, it should feel familiar. It plays in a landscape window and is controlled with keyboard, mouse or touch. It is not tagged as mobile-friendly, but its controls mention tapping, so it may work on a phone too.

Pick a gate, grow your army, smash whatever is in the way. Each run you steer a crowd of soldiers down a long road. Gates add or multiply troops, or turn soldiers into shield bearers, archers, giants or mages. The enemy groups ahead show what beats them, so you can plan before the clash: shields stop arrows, archers take down towers, giants break barriers and armor, mages clear swarms.

Watch out for hammers, saws, holes and narrow bridges. Hold the button to squeeze your army into a tight line and get past them. Every fifth level ends with a boss. Each boss has a weak spot and a class that hits it harder. Between runs you can build up your island kingdom.

Buildings make your troops stronger and farms make gold while you are away. Skeletons attack the kingdom from time to time, and you aim the tower arrows yourself to hold them off. 30 levels across 3 worlds (Green Meadows, Mushroom Forest, Frozen Peaks) with 6 bosses, plus extra levels after each world.

How to play

1. Mouse move left and right to steer.
2. Hold left mouse button or Shift squeeze the army into a line 1 2 3 4 class powers unlocked as you get each class Space Golden Army when the bar is full A D or arrow keys steer Esc pause Touch drag to steer.

Tips

• Stay in the middle lane when possible. It gives you the most room to dodge either way.
• Learn one combo or dodge pattern well before trying fancy moves.
